Seminar 2009 June 15-21, 2009 Concordia University, Portland, Oregon |
Seminar Theme Come to the Circus Agnes Davis, BDEIG seminar chairman Do you remember when you were a little person and were told that the circus was coming to town? What a thrill that was! You looked forward to the day when all the excitement would begin. There would be lots of food that only a circus could provide, and there would be the great walk around the Midway, the Fun House and the Side Show. Well, guess what? The circus is coming back and it will be in Portland, Oregon, June 15, 2009, and will remain until June 20. You are all invited to “Come to the Circus,” which is being held at Concordia University under the title of BDEIG Seminar 2009. The Merchant Mall will turn into the Midway and Show and Share will become a Side Show as never before. You will find yourself entering the East Hall lobby to register, which is really the Gateway. As you drift down the Boardwalk, (previously known as the residence hallways, you will notice many Fun Houses. This is really going to be a huge three-ring circus. In one ring you will be entertained the whole week with fun and games. Prizes and special drawings will make up the second ring, and of course the third ring is the main one, filled with the greatest classes ever given at our Brazilian embroidery seminars. You will not want to miss the evenings of free stitching with your friends who are also attending the circus. Saturday Night at an awesome Rap Party (formerly known as the Saturday Evening Banquet) you will be entertained with lots of great food along with music, singing, and dancing. The circus crew is doing a lot of work and planning while resting at winter camp, so all of you stitchers, please “Come to the Circus” and enjoy a week of classes, stitching, and playing.
