Review of seminar 2007 Nearly 100 BDEIG Seminar 2007 participants, including one of our male members for the first time, were hosted by Concordia University in Portland, Oregon in early June. A full schedule of 56 classes with 18 instructors reflected the seminar theme of "Butterflies - Flowers That Fly," "Pansies," the Flower of the Year, and other creative designs. For the first time, five full days of classes plus a pre-seminar learning skills class were offered. Each guild member participant received a lovely goodie bags filled with lots of interesting and useful embroidery-related items. Room Fairies distributed more goodies to each room and Welcome Angels helped all the new attendees learn the ropes. Special activities this year included a pajama night at the merchant mall with discounts for those who arrived in their pajamas. An ice cream social followed. After the annual business meeting, a fashion show of stitched garments was held for all in attendance. Show and Share, our annual exhibit of members' work was held Friday evening, and guest merchants were also hosted at that time. At the Saturday evening closing banquet, entertainment was provided for all to enjoy. The Canadian girls put on a Canada Night party Tuesday night, following the tradition set by the New Orleans ladies last year. Sunday afternoon, just before seminar opened, a Make-It, Take-It class was offered to local people to introduce them to Brazilian embroidery. Many guild teachers volunteered their time for this project and it was well received. Seminar Chairman Pam Cole along with her very able committee did a terrific job and everyone had a good time learning and sharing.
