Each year the funds earned from our scholarship fundraising quilts and other guild sales are used to help members attend seminar. Since 2008, 2/3 of the fundraising money available each year is for scholarships, with any excess money carried over to future years for scholarships. Scholarships are $250 and can be used for any seminar expenses.
Any guild member may apply for a scholarship, and may receive a scholarship only once. Names are drawn in mid December for the scholarships to be used for the following seminar. The Past President is the chairman of the Scholarship_Comittee Contact her in the fall to be placed in the drawing, or to submit the name of a friend for a scholarship. Deadline for submission of names is December 1st of each year. 10 scholarships were given for the 2015 seminar.
BDEIG Scholarship Quilt Project
Again we have a beautiful handmade quilt and matching pillow to raffle as a fundraising project for scholarship funds. Our scholarships are for members to use at our seminars. This year 10 members are receiving $250 scholarships. We have a beautiful “Country Garden” quilt and a matching pillow that will go to a lucky raffle winner in June. Joy Erickson coordinated and put the quilt together. She had it hand quilted by Lise Ott.
