Scholarships

Each year the funds earned from our scholarship fundraising quilts and other guild sales are used to help members attend seminar. In 2006 the membership voted to award up to 6 scholarships each year, with any excess money carried over to future years for scholarships.  Scholarships will be sufficient to cover the cost of 8 classes, but can be used for any seminar expenses.

Any guild member may apply for a scholarship, but may receive and use one only once. Names are drawn in mid December for the scholarships to be used for the following seminar.  The Past President is the chairman of the Scholarship Committee.  Contact her in the fall to be placed in the drawing, or to submit the name of a friend for a scholarship.  Deadline for submission of names is December 1, 2007.

Fundraising Quilt

Pauline Richard volunteered to organize the fund raising quilt project for 2008.  It is a reversible queen sized quilt with autumn scenes on one side and winter scenes on the other.  At least 23 volunteers have stitched pieces for the quilt.  Here it is.  See how beautiful each side looks on a bed.  Photos were taken in the Dania Furniture Showroom, 16995 Cornell Rd., Beaverton, OR. Contact Jean Wirig for tickets.
